Throughout her Eras Tour, Taylor Swift is having fun both onstage and off.
This week, in between her two nights of performances at Detroit’s Ford Field, the 33-year-old musician made a donation.
The food bank shared a message from Swift on Facebook on Friday to announce the contribution, saying, “No matter what happens in life, be good to people.”
The social media statement went on, “These words ring true today with Taylor’s surprise donation to Gleaners during her #TSTheErasTour stop in #Detroit.” “Thank you for making an impact & empowering kids and families with nutritious food!”
The Detroit Free Press stated that although Swift’s donation amount remained undisclosed, it was called “generous.”
According to Kristin Sokul, a spokesperson for Gleaners, “Taylor Swift’s support of food banks across the country comes at such a critical time for so many emerge𝚗cy food providers—when resources are down, and need is up.”
“Her kindness extends beyond money for meals,” Sokul said. “The room in her heart will enable families around Southeast Michigan to lead healthier, happier lives and raise awareness of the critical problem of food security, allowing those who can assist to be motivated by her example. The Gleaners crew is incredibly appreciative of this wonderful gift.
Swift performed in front of hundreds of thousands of devoted fans, including Flavor Flav, throughout the course of her two-night stay in Detroit.
The performer posted a number of pictures and videos from his Friday night at Ford Field, where he and the other Swifties greeted the Midnights singer warmly.
Throughout the evening, 64-year-old Flav expressed his emotions on social media, even explaining why he chose to wear all-red at one point.
“In my RED (Taylor’s Version) Era and making new friends at #TaylorSwift @taylorswift13,” Flav captioned a tweet that included a picture of himself sporting a bracelet pair.
“Had to check myself and what version ya boy was reppin,,, artists supporting other artists,” he said.
Flav clarified in a later video that he wasn’t enjoying the show by himself, pointing out his Eras Tour drip. “THANKX to all my new friends,,, luv my fellow Swifties,” he tweeted.
Since its debut night in March, Swift’s tour has so far included appearances by Marcus Mumford, Aaron Dessner, Phoebe Bridgers, Jack Antonoff, Ice Spice, and Maren Morris.
