Adelaide’s captain, Jordan Dawson, presents Enzo Fernandez with a pair of bespoke Nike Mercurials

Renowned artist Jordan Dawson has once again shown his creative ability by creating a one-of-a-kind pair of customized boots for Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez, who debuted them during the team’s most recent game against Astоn Villa.

It is well known that Dawson is the go-to craftsman for top athletes looking to add a little flare to their athletic attire. Among others, his repertoire consists of bootlegs for Darwin Nunez, Allan Saint-Maximin, and Alex Mac Allister. He is now focusing on his international colleague Fernandez, adding unique elements to a Nike Mercurial Vapor that are worthy of the Argentine midfielder’s World Cup history.

Wearing the personalized boots during the weekend’s 0-1 loss to AS Villa only serves to fuel speculation about Fernandez’s brand affiliation going forward. Fernandez has been seen wearing a variety of Nike models lately, deviating from his typical Phantom GX and regrettably even donning a pair of PUMA Ultras. This most recent change suggests that his tenure with Nike may be coming to an end as he explores other options. He is obviously showcasing his fashion choices by working with Dawson to produce a unique version of the Mercurial Vapors.

However, the plate doesn’t seem to be divided in that manner, indicating a different customization. The heel has a fading blue diamond geometric design, where the deeper blue links to Chelsea and the lighter blue blends with the white ground to resemble the native colors of Argentina. Gentle details surround the splash outline, with “AFA” on the left and “E8” on the right, three stars (signifying Argentina’s three World Cup victories), and heel additions.
