How Taylor Swift got fit for the Eras Tour.
After being selected Time’s Person of the Year, Swift, 33, told Time that she started preparing six months before her March concert at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.
“I knew this tour was harder than anything I’d ever done before by a long shot,” Swift told Time. “For the first time, I physically prepared correctly.”
Swift explained that she trained by running on the treadmill daily while singing the concert’s extensive repertoire. “Fast for fast songs, jog or fast walk for slow songs,” she said. Her gym, Dogpound, offered strength training and dance courses after running.
She said, “I wаnted it in my bones. I wаnted to be over-rehearsed so I could be funny with fans without losing my train of thought. My choreography skills are lacking.”
Swift also quit drinking before her three-hour, 15-minute set. The only night she drank before her tour was the February Grammys. “I gave myself a fun night for that one,” she said. She resumed abstaining.
She said, “Doing that show with a hangover—I don’t want to know that world.”
“I’m not drinking on tour. Definitely working out between gigs. I maintain my strength and stamina. She said she would perform whether she was sick, injured, heartbroken, uncomfortable, or anxiоus. “That’s part of my humanity now. Unless force majeure occurs, I will do a ticketed show.
Once the Eras Tour began in March, Swift would play three consecutive gigs in each location. She told the site that on “deаd days” she would only get out of bed to get food.
She said, “It’s a dream scenario. Three shows of singing have left me speechless. Dancing in heels makes my feet crunch with every stride. But I’ve never felt more fulfilled.”
