Charlie Puth deeply thanks Taylor Swift for mentioning his name in her new song, ‘really grateful it was Taylor’

With Charlie Puth’s gratitude, it’s not hard to figure out that the “hero” in his life is none other than Taylor Swift.

The singer of “One Call Away” released a new song on Friday called “Hero,” which seems to be a response to Swift’s criticism of him in the song “The Tortured Poets Department,” which was featured on her most recent album last month.

Swift crooned, “You smoked, then ate seven bars of chocolate / We declared Charlie Puth should be a bigger artist,” in the second stanza of the song.

Puth shared a video clip of himself lip-syncing to his new song on Instagram on Friday night. The song is kind of like the antithesis of a diss track.

Puth said that “the last couple of weeks have been really crazy for obvious reasons” in text that was overlaid on the video, but he also said that he now had something to offer with his fans and followers.

Puth went on, “But I believe that I was receiving a sign from someone that I needed to let go of it.”
