Chelsea has reportedly put another Brighton player “under consideration” for this summer’s transfer window, a writer reported this week.
It has long been known that Chelsea wants to add a new striker to their roster. At the end of the season, though, they’ll be examining a number of different positions that they could want to attempt to improve in. Due to its length and the fact that teams are significantly more ready to sell their players during the summer window than during the winter, it is always far busier than the winter window.
Thus, finding a new striker is still Chelsea’s top priority, and options are still coming in. This week’s 90-minute essay by Ben Jacobs provides the most recent information on a few names.
According to Jacobs, a number of Chelsea’s recruitment staff members are admirers of Brighton’s Evan Ferguson, who is reportedly being considered for a position at the club.
Ferguson’s form has declined slightly and he has had a quieter season this year, so I would be shocked if Chelsea decided to make a major transfer fee for him.
The most discussed target is Victor Osimhen. Recently, reports in Italy have even stated that Chelsea and Napoli have been discussing a potential trade that would involve Romelu Lukaku leaving the club.
However, Jacobs has cast significant doubt on those connections.
He claims that in any potential trade for Victor Osimhen of Napoli, Chelsea has not made Romelu Lukaku an offer as a makeweight. It appears that there isn’t a favorite or obvious front-runner at this time as Chelsea is still evaluating their summer budget and a number of striker alternatives before entering into negotiations. Furthermore, it appears that Chelsea is currently making a concerted effort to play it safe.
