According to sources, Chelsea is among the teams considering a deal for Tosin Adarabioyo, a “strong” center-back in the Premier League.
The 26-year-old Englishman became a key member of Marco Silva’s team and assisted Fulham in winning the Championship in 2022.
Nevertheless, Adarabioyo was benched for Fulham’s most recent game after allegedly telling the west London team he wouldn’t sign a new deal at Craven Cottage.
Adarabioyo, who began his career at Manchester City, will “probably” leave Fulham when his current contract ends this summer, Silva said on Friday.
“I prefer to keep that between us when it starts to come, the news that he’s not going to be with us next season,” Fulham manager Silva stated.
Naturally, that’s a choice made by the player. We have made it known that we attempted to extend contracts with him as well as other players who were very close to expiration, and it was not an easy task. It’s likely that he won’t be spending any more time at the club.
Adarabioyo left City for Fulham four years ago after being unable to establish himself in the starting lineup at the Etihad; nonetheless, Pep Guardiola has always been very complimentary of the player.
Guardiola described Adarabioyo as “quick, strong in the air, and able to look forward behind the line for the next pass” in 2016.
According to sources, Newcastle United, a team in the Premier League, is also contemplating a move for Adarabioyo, thus Chelsea is not the only team trying to get him.
Adarabioyo has played in 132 matches for Fulham so far, and despite the rumors surrounding his future, Silva claims he is still available for selection.
