Mauricio Pochettino reiterated he plans to still be in charge of Chelsea next season after his side’s remarkable win over Nottingham Forest

Chelsea’s spirited 3-2 triumph at The City Ground in their Premier League matchup made it three victories in a row and four without a loss.

This season, many have questioned Pochettino’s status, but the Blues’ recent run of success has put an end to that.

“The team needed to close off the season strong in order to perhaps have a great start to the next one.

“We were disciplined in our first ten games, if we are being honest. Although we did a terrific job, we blew a lot of opportunities and lacked clinical execution.

“All of the data indicated that our position was false. We are in the top four or five after our victory over Tottenham [Hotspur] in the previous 24 games.

Going into its final game of the season, Forest, which was docked four points earlier in the season, is still mathematically uncertain of a Premier League spot.

But only a 12-goal swing, a Forest loss at Burnley, and a Luton Town victory over Fulham will see the Reds go down.

Nuno Espirito Santo, the manager of Forest, now expects his team to finish the challenging 2023–2024 season strong the next weekend.

“We will prepare for the game against Burnley the way we always do, to complete well,” he stated.

“It’s critical to have a successful season finale. We have a lot to learn as a club. Four points is a big loss for us.

“You are aware of how difficult it is to score points in the league. However, we have the groundwork to perform far better.
