Fans of Taylor Swift are furious with a concertgoer who seems to have left their infant sleeping on the stage during an Eras Tour performance that took place late last week in Paris.
A infant can be seen laying on the floor of La Défense Arena close to a bag of items in images of the incident that were published to X (previously Twitter) on May 10. A grown-up is seen standing over the small child; it is assumed that they are a parent or guardian, however this has not been proven.
The infant was reportedly spotted in the arena’s standing room area, according to the Swiftie who first shared the photos. The young person can be seen dozing off in one picture with headphones covering their ears to block out noise.
Multiple news agencies reported that the now-deleted post stated: “Not to be one of those people but I would genuinely call security if I saw a baby in the pit because it is NOT safe there.” The user later clarified that they were not the original photographer.
An another image of the 45,000-person capacity arena from one of Swift’s gigs was uploaded by X user @whatamind13, showing a crammed floor pit.
“As a mother of a child roughly this small, I could never picture taking them to a performance. I know it’s difficult to get sitters, but you shouldn’t be in the pit if you truly had to bring them. One commenter remarked, “You should have a carrier for them, and the baby needs ear protection.”
“WTF…Even with what appears to be ear protection, a newborn would likely find it overwhelming as well because there would be a lot of movement, loud noises, flashing lights, etc. Another person commented, “Honestly, I don’t see the point in taking a baby to a concert because they won’t even understand what’s going on.”
“That infant would get trampled or hurt if there was an emerge𝚗cy and everyone had to go quickly. I can’t even handle how awful it is,” said someone else.
The “general terms and conditions of sale stipulate that all minors (without any age limit) holding a ticket for a concert at Paris La Défense arena must be accompanied by an adult,” a La Défense Arena spokeswoman told Page Six. Under-18s are still under the legal guardianship of their parents; this is a venue policy. An alternate seating arrangement for those with young children on the floor has been suggested, but ticket holders have rejected it.
The venue “doesn’t recommend bringing children under the age of 4, even if accompanied, particularly due to the high volume,” according to a portion of the arena’s website.
Neither Swift nor the concertgoer who brought the toddler to the performance have commented on the event. The baby’s parent or parents are still unknown.
