Exciting news for a Friday evening: Taylor Swift has just made a mark in Australian music history by achieving the record for the most No 1 albums by a female artist in Aria history.
In her most recent release, titled The Tortured Poets Department, she has achieved yet another milestone with her 13th album to claim the top spot on the Aria album chart, surpassing even Madonna’s record. Not only that, she has made history by being the first artist to dominate the entire top 10 on the singles chart. Currently, she holds an impressive 29 spots in the top 50 singles simultaneously, a remarkable accomplishment that has never been seen before.
Earlier this year, Taylor Swift’s Eras tour set new attendance records in Australia. The talented artist has made history by being the only singer to knock herself off the top spot on the Aria album chart, achieving this impressive feat three times.
Jimmy Barnes still maintains the top spot for the highest number of No 1 albums, with a total of 15 solo albums (and an additional five with Cold Chisel). The Beatles come in second place with 14 No 1 albums.
